What Made You Smile Today?

It is so easy to dwell on the negative things that happen all day long, but I recently discovered that asking myself “What made you smile today?” allows me to be grateful for the small things that make me cheerful. I have been doing this for a week now and it relaxes my mind and turns my bad days around. Once I start the list, I want to keep going, which gives me motivation to continue doing things that make me joyful.

Here’s what made me smile today:

  • My plant grew a pink flower!

  • A video of a dog graduating puppy school.

  • Seeing my family laughing together.

  • How happy my art teacher was that we all had our cameras on during class yesterday.

  • Realizing I survived a whole month of online school despite the stress I have been experiencing.

  • My older sister asked if I wanted to hangout and watch spooky movies.

  • My younger sister and I danced to Christmas music.

  • Seeing one of my best friends for the first time since school ended in June.

Clearly, none of these are significant events but that is the pure beauty in it. These are small things I would normally skip over; However, when I have time to analyze all of the things that made me smile even for a split-second, I realize that everyday is a good day.

Please share below what made you smile today, I would love to hear!
