The Deal With Comparison

Comparison. We have all been there, and we have all done that. Why do we compare ourselves to others? Most of the time, it is because we are not confident about ourselves. We may see a flaw that makes us insecure or feel conflicted. Therefore, we look to others for assurance by comparing ourselves to them. Sometimes, it makes us feel better, and sometimes, it makes us feel way worse. Either way, the truth is that we should not compare. We are ourselves and ONLY ourselves. We know what is best for ourselves, and we do not need any external factors to determine it for us. We are in control.

However, we should compare ourselves to one person, ourselves. That makes way for self-reflection and improvement. If we never look back at our actions and reflect upon them, we will never grow into better people. So, remember, we have to keep our eyes in our own lane. At the same time, we always have to look for ways to improve ourselves, egotism will not work.
