Stressful Times

What a strange and frightening year 2020 has been. From COVID-19 to fatal explosions, 2020 certainly has all of us waiting on the tips of our chairs, questioning what the next occurrence will be. We all experienced something different this year—some got the COVID Blues, others lost their jobs, and some even lost their loved ones this year. This is an extremely stressful time for all people, and finding means to stay calm and not panic is very important. I currently struggle with overthinking my college application and struggling to finish it. I also am stressed about my SAT, the current situation in the world, multiple typhoons in a week that keep on hitting South Korea (where I reside), and the fear of the division that was caused by this pandemic on society. In my opinion, we have all forgotten about unity and working together to solve problems; we simply become more selfish with our resources and health because we want to make sure that we are prepared to survive, even if it means leaving others behind. Even though you may be very anxious, it is important to remain human. We must care for one another and support and protect each other because without unity and dependency upon one another, this situation will never alleviate.
