Indie Films Watch List: 2019 Edition

Remember when we all said that 2020 would be our year? Unfortunately, sometimes situational matters interfere with what we want, so what better way to mourn the year of 2020 than by looking back into the bright, marvelous year of 2019? Having resulted in numerous award winning films, 2019 was truly the year for independent cinema to shine. So without further ado, here are a few of my favorites, hand-picked to help you pass time in quarantine!

To assure her happiness, they gather under the joyful guise of an expedited wedding, uniting family members scattered among new homes abroad. As Billi navigates a minefield of family expectations and proprieties, she finds there’s a lot to celebrate: a chance to rediscover the country she left as a child, her grandmother’s wondrous spirit, and the ties that keep on binding even when so much goes unspoken". ~ a24films.com
