1 Cup of Walnuts and Cloves
Place walnuts, cinnamon, cloves, and salt into a food processor- Pulse 10 times until walnuts grinded
Place layers of thawed Phyllo dough into a pan- brush each one with melted butter. - Place 8 layers
After you place the 8 layers, add ⅕ of the walnut based filling you grinded evenly
After you evenly place the filling, add phyllo dough on top similar to the bottom
Once layered, cut into pieces with a knife- whatever shape you want!
Lastly, bake the Baklava into the oven for 50 minutes!
Let the Baklava cool for 15 minutes
Next, we will create the syrup that goes on top
Ingredients: Honey, Water, Sugar, Orange peels, and Lemon peels
Put these ingredients into a pan. No exact measurements. Whatever feels best to you!
Bring to a boil- and cook for about 5 minutes
While hot, pour the syrup onto the cooled Baklava
THE LAST STEP: let the baklava cool at room temperature for 8 hours. (Yes… 8 hours!!)
After those 8 hours, enjoy!
