Books I want to Read in November

Fun fact about me: I am a huge book nerd! I love reading, fangirling, and falling in love with new books, series, and fandoms. With there only being two months left in this year, I have compiled the books I want to finish by 2020. There's a lot scary things going on at the moment, and while it is important to stay informed, it's also nice to be transported into a magical world for a little bit and forget about what’s actually going on. For this reason, many of these books are young adult fantasy! Maybe you can find a new read to pick up in this list! Reading is truly magical. :)

Fall TBR (To be read/ or re-read) :

The Ember in Ashes Series {Sabaa Tahir}

Synopsis: An Ember in the Ashes is a young adult fantasy novel by Sabaa Tahir, that recounts the struggles of 17-year-old Laia to save her older brother from the clutches of the Empire, while Aspirant to become Emperor, Elias Verturius, struggles to find a way to leave the Empire.

Why I want to read it: I have heard so many amazing things about this series! Several of my favorite book friends, book youtubers, and book instagramers rave about this series as well. I have heard there is a cool magic system, amazing world building, atmospheric writing, and a great romance. There are currently three books out, with a fourth one coming out this December. Some people claim it is the best YA series. I want to see that for myself. :)

The Last Magician Series {Lisa Maxwell} :

Synopsis : Any Mageus who enters Manhattan becomes trapped by the Brink, a dark energy barrier that confines them to the island. Crossing it means losing their power—and often their lives. Esta is a talented thief, and she's been raised to steal magical artifacts from the sinister Order that created the Brink.

Why I want to read it: I love intricate magic systems, different time periods, time travel, and romance! Apparently, this series has all of these things and more. :) There are currently two books out, and a third one coming soon.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue {V.E. Scwab} :

Synopsis: Addie LaRue is a young woman who trades her soul for immortality and a life of freedom. She will live forever, but no one can remember her. It's a bargain she strikes with the devil out of desperation and a desire for more.

Three hundred years later, Addie has learned to survive, but is still living a mostly invisible existence. Then, she walks into a small New York City bookstore, and meets a man who can remember her name and face.

Why I want to read it: I haven’t read many V.E. Scwab’s books, but this one seems amazing! I’ve read so many good reviews about this one as well. They say it’s full of longing, romance, and beautiful writing. I believe that it is a standalone at the moment!

Little Women { Louisa May Allcott }:

Synopsis: The story follows the lives of the four March sisters—Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy—and details their passage from childhood to womanhood. It is loosely based on the lives of the author and her three sisters.

Why I want to read it: So this is one of my favorite books and favorite movies as well! It makes me happy, and I would consider it one of my “cozy” books. I love the happy vibes, family ties, mini stories, and of course Laurie :) It is one of my favorite books to read during Christmas.

If you have read any of these, let me know! And if you haven’t, I hope you find a new favorite. Have a lovely day <3
