Baking Done Easy: 3- Ingredient Banana Cookies.

Just like every other teen, I was scrolling through Tik Tok when I came across a recipe for healthy banana cookies that appeared to be simple and pretty easy. Now me being a terrible chef/ baker, that is very much capable of ruining a 3-ingredient recipe, I knew I had to try this.

Ingredients:

  • Two medium sized bananas. (The browner the banana, the sweeter they are.)

  • 1 ½ cup of oats.

  • Chocolate chips. (Any amount can work. If you are not a chocolate lover, you can replace them with raisins, cranberries, or anything sweet of your choice!)

Directions:

(Makes around 15-16 cookies)

  1. The first thing you want to do is mash your bananas in a bowl until all, or almost all, of the bananas are broken down.

  2. Add in the 1 ½ cup of oats.

  3. Mix until all the oats are covered with banana.

  4. Add in your chocolate chips, raisins, nuts, or any topping of your choice.

  5. Mix until everything is combined.

  6. Grease your baking pan with oil, butter, or simply place parchment paper on the pan, ensuring that nothing sticks.

  7. This step is optional, but for more flavor you can also add vanilla extract!

  8. Take about a tablespoon of the banana and oat mixture into your hand.

  9. Roll the mixture in a ball and flatten it out on your pan. Be sure to shape the cookies before they go into the oven, because they do little to no spreading like normal cookies!

  10. Rinse off your hands, and pop your tray in the oven at 350°F for 12-15 minutes.

  11. When your timer rings, remove the tray from the oven and take a whiff of those freshly baked cookies! You can either eat them while they are warm, or the next day when they are out of the refrigerator.

Review:

When I took my cookies out of the oven I was honestly relieved to know that I didn't burn them, and they actually looked tempting. When I took my first bite, I fell in love. I was never a big fan of bananas or oats, and you would never see one of those items on my breakfast plate! However, if you were to hand me one of those cookies I would gladly take it, and then look at you weirdly while saying, “So you’re only giving me one?”

These cookies took barely any effort to make. It’s definitely one of those snacks that i would make in the middle of the night while binging my favorite Netflix shows. The best part is that I won't even feel guilty about it, because they have very little sugar, and are made with healthy ingredients.

My entire family loved the cookies so much that it was our go-to breakfast for about a week. I, nor anyone, could believe I made them, because I'm literally that girl that would burn a cheese sandwich! So if you’re a teen, like me, whose baking skills are exceptionally terrible, need to cut down on sugar, or just want a quick and simple snack be sure to try this recipe out!
